Teach, Talk, Record: Engaging Students Through Podcasting Assignments In-Person
Looking for assignments that captivate students, foster transferable skills, and resist AI-generated shortcuts?
This one-hour, hands-on workshop explores how podcasting can deepen student engagement and enhance learning across disciplines. Discover how formats like interviews, recitations, readings, radio plays, and audio diaries can be used to creatively assess student understanding while building communication and media literacy.
Co-led by a Stetson professor who transformed his First-Year Seminar assignments into dynamic 10-minute podcasts, this session offers practical strategies, assignment design tips, and insights into the impact on learners. A library co-presenter will introduce the cHatter Box—Stetson’s library-based audio recording studio—available for student use and easily integrated into future course planning.
Whether you teach a FSEM, or in languages, theatre, or any field where voice and storytelling matter, join us on Reading Day to explore how podcasting can become a powerful tool in your pedagogical toolkit.
Cookies and coffee will be served. No registration required, but please mark your calendar!
